Zip Money Instalments

Retiring soon

We will be retiring instalments on 12 August 2025. New purchases made on your Zip Money account from that date will be repaid on Flex.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • From 12 August 2025, Instalment Plans will no longer be available for new purchases made on your Zip Money account.
  • These changes are designed to create a simplified Zip Money repayment experience for you.
  • All new purchases will be placed onto the Flex repayment schedule, which requires making minimum monthly repayments.

    • Here’s how it works:
    • Your minimum monthly repayments may be found in your monthly statement and in the Zip app.
    • Repayments will be automatically debited from the payment method linked to your account.
  • These changes will not affect any active Instalment Plans you have as at 12 August 2025. You are required to continue repaying Instalments as usual or you can choose to cancel your Instalment Plan and repay on a Flex repayment schedule.

We will notify you of any changes we may make to your active instalment plans in the future before these changes will apply to your account.

  • To avoid interest charges, you will need to repay any amount outstanding on a purchase within its interest free period. Any balance outstanding at the expiry of the interest-free period will be charged at the standard variable interest rate of 25.9% p.a.*

*As at 1 June 2023. Other charges may be payable, see T&Cs. Interest, fees and charges are subject to change

  • Yes. Your Zip Money account is still available to use for bigger purchases through select Zip partners and by generating a Single Use Card in the Zip app for online purchases, wherever Visa is accepted.
  • No. The option to extend Instalments was offered through the Instalments feature, which means as of 12 August 2025, you will no longer be able to extend the advertised interest free period for new purchases.
